Who's the First Person to Greet Your Customer?


I contacted her sliding glass window and was behind a gentleman whom I believed she was helping. After around three minutes, I recognized he was awaiting work manager and she or he might have acknowledged my presence. I walked as much as your window she didn't say hello she didn't smile she just glared at me. I began to talk she pointed a finger in a clip board having a paper to complete. I placed the completed sheet before her, possibly expecting a thanks or perhaps a smile or at best 'have a chair the physician will help you soon'.

I had been so intrigued by her manner which i viewed her interaction using the other patients. The guy sitting alongside me began to inform me that despite the fact that he'd a scheduled appointment he'd been waiting a very long time. He explained he was very dissatisfied considering that the place was run and was beginning to regret his association with this particular office. With a little of humor, I told him I had been watching the receptionist and requested if she'd uttered a thing to him. He began to laugh, and stated, "Arrived at think about it, not really a word!"

The following patient in the future in was a mature lady having a master. The receptionist wasn't at her desk therefore the lady required a chair and anxiously waited on her return. She again pointed in the clip board, required the shape, put her sliding clear glass door closed and stated nothing. The next was the postman, who I am sure she sees daily. Again, not really a smile or perhaps a hello she stuck out her hands for that mail and handed him the outgoing mail.

Now my new disgruntled friend and that i were kind of taking pleasure in this and made the decision that maybe she would be a mute....after which it happened. A great-searching UPS delivery guy arrived. Lo and behold, there is a large smile along with a voice that could say hello! Which was short resided. She treated the relaxation of the sufferers in her own same rude uncaring manner, an overall total insufficient personality.

In my experience, a chance to positively connect to the client, regardless of what the company, is most important. Hire your receptionist with just as much thought while you would hire a sales representative. Some wise person once stated "If today you allow a stranger your smiles, it may be the only real sunshine he sees all day long.
